Confirmed NAPSA Stars Football Club head coach Linos Makwaza says his side is targeting the Charity Shield.
NAPSA was handed a slot in this year’s Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlove Charity Shield semi-final set for Nkoloma Stadium on March 3.
Makwaza’s drilled side has been drawn against league Champions Zesco United FC, with the head coach saying NAPSA needs such games if the team has to prepare well for the FAZ/MTN super league competition which starts on March 17.
“We are grateful to FAZ for this slot. We need such games with big teams to prepare for league so we shall target getting into the final and see where we head from there,” Makwaza said.
Makwaza has also thanked the NAPSA Stars FC executive for confirming him as club head coach saying this shows the confidence the executive has in him.
The head coach who took over Tenant Chilumba also added that he has assembled a strong side with his technical bench to prepare for the season.
“We want to seriously compete this season. I am very hopeful that the team we have assembled is better than the one we had last year and the aim of finishing in top four still stands,” Makwaza said.
NAPSA finished on seventh position last season with 58 points from 38 games played.
