Napsa Stars Football club is tomorrow scheduled to meet Buildcon FC in a week six FAZ/MTN super league encounter which is set for Sunset Stadium at 15:00 hours.
First match under the supervision of newly appointed head coach, Elijah Chikwanda, and management together with Napsa Stars fans, are expectant especially after seeing the team only record a point from a possible 15 points.
Chikwanda took over Linos Makwaza who had coached the team since last year, but was sidelined together with his two immediate assistant coaches, Dabwitso Nkhoma and Harry Milanzi.
Coach Chikwanda was introduced to the team on Tuesday morning, and has been attending training sessions since then.
The new coach says he does not need a lot of time to acclimatize because he has been coaching in the Zambian Super league for quite some time now.
He says there is still hope of changing fortunes for this Napsa Stars youthful side, saying the only thing needed is for the technical bench to keep encouraging the team to push hard and believe.
“We just need to change the attitude , the team is lacking in a few areas but they are professionals and that should not worry anyone, “Chikwanda said.
He also adds that the sponsors put in a lot, and that there was need of some serious change in attitude from the team if the winning formula had to start.
Napsa has struggled to record a single win since the league started, losing four matches in a row, and drawing the first match played against Nkwazi FC.
And asked on tomorrow’s game against Buildcon FC, Chikwanda says he expects a positive result from his side.
“We have good players, but losing four matches in a row has some how demotivated them. We are trying to push them to keep on believing,”Chikwanda said.
Napsa is set to play Buildcon tomorrow at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
