Forest Rangers Vs Napsa Stars
Levy Mwanawasa Stadium
13:00hrs (By BWEZANI MBEWE)
Napsa Stars’ spectacular run has now seen the team go four games unbeaten. But they will have to turn their draws into wins if that dream is still on the cards.
The away fixture to Forest Rangers is another litmus test for pension fund collectors. It’s a game to look forward to and will have to forget about their 2-2 draw against Buildcon last week in Lusaka.
Going into their last week’s draw against Lumwana Radiants, the protectors of wild vegetation were averaging an impressive two goals per game but have struggled on the road and that result away in Lumwana will boost the team at home were they have just been excellent this season.
They have one loss in the last six games, similar fate with Napsa Stars but the difference is that they have three wins unlike the two for Napsa Stars.
NAPSA Stars can only improve with one step going up and that is dependant on a win in this fixture and Lumwana losing away to Power Dynamos. They could go one step downward should they lose and Nkana beat Green Eagles in Choma.
For Forest Rangers, the maximum position they can get on the log table is third should they win this encounter but Nkwazi and Buildcon who face off after this game will give a clear indication on how the table will be shaped after these two games at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
HEAD TO HEAD
Last 13 games played against each other and still nothing to separate these two sides as both have won five and count three draws. Forest Rangers though picked maximum points in the first leg encounter of this fixture away.
During the 2018 season, the team that was playing at home picked maximum points and we are yet to see if Forest Rangers will do a double over the Pensioners.
The only double in this fixture was in 2017 when Napsa Stars beat Forest Rangers 4-3 at home and 1-0 in Ndola.
The other interesting statistic is that the two teams have scored and conceded the same number of goals in the last 13 games against each other. Forced 11 goals and allowed 11 goals.
Forest Rangers is at home and they will be favourite to win this one but we have seen over the years what to expect of Napsa when playing with the under-dog tag.
This will be a good game to watch.
