Napsa Stars FC started their league campaign on a high beating Mighty Mufulira Wanderers FC 2-0 at their home ground in Mufulira.
Wanderers were first to signal a threat during this match which was played at Shinde Stadium on Saturday, with Kapembwa Musonda taking a free kick which hit the cross bar in the 20th minute.
Napsa Stars responded to Wanderer’s threat in the 31st minute with a long range shot from Danny Silavwe who benefited from Mambote Assis’s pass to give Napsa their first goal of the season.
In the 41st minute, Wanderer’s Mercy Duru scored for his side but this skilful player was in an offside position and the goal was cancelled.
Duru was also the first player to be substituted in the 47th minute in the second half of the match. The second substitution for Wanderers came in the 61st minute
In the 73rd minute, Wanderers attempted to equalise with a good shot on goal from Misi Katende, but the player’s effort was parried off by Napsa goalkeeper Rabson Mucheleng’anga.
The visitors made their first substitution in the 77th minute, introducing striker Thomas Banda for Mambote Assis.
Banda introduced himself with a good pass to Bornwell Mwape, to see Napsa score their second goal in the 88th minute.
Napsa made their second and last substitution in the 90th minute introducing John Sikaumbwa who replaced Bornwell Mwape.
And in his post match rection, coach Mohamed Fahti congratulated his side for a good start to the season saying it is not easy winning away especially to a club like Wanderers.
” kudos to the team for a good performance, we shall keep focus even going into the next matches,”Fathi said.
And the coach’s team consisted of Rabson Muchleng’anga in goal, Bornwell Silengo and Aaron Kabwe as left and right backs respectively.
Luka Ng’uni and Luka Banda handled the central defence perfectly well with Dickson Chapa and Collins Sikombe playing in the defensive and attacking midfield respectively.
Other midfielders used on the starting line-up were Simon Nkhata and Danny Silavwe while Bornwell Mwape and Mambote Assis started as strikers for this match.
On the bench were Isaac Simbuwa, Thomas Banda, John Sikaumbwe, Austin Banda, Amos Simwanza, Patient Mwepu and Philip Banda.
The next match is on the 14th of September when Napsa Stars FC host on Kansanshi Dynamos FC at Woodlands Stadium.
